These Bull Shark jaws are named in tribute to the bell end Mayor of Amity Island. A huge plot hole existed in the film when Chief Brody simply didn’t shoot him during a routine traffic stop.
FACTS – One or several bull sharks may have been responsible for the Jersey Shore shark attacks of 1916, which were the inspiration for Peter Benchley’s novel Jaws!! The speculation of bull sharks possibly being responsible is based on two fatal bites occurring in brackish and fresh water.
A member of the Requiem Shark family (Carcharhinidae) the Bull Shark (Carcharhinus Leucas) are migratory live-bearing sharks. They are also the best known of 43 sharks known to swim in fresh water, leading to them also being known as the Zambezi Shark or Lake Nicaragua shark.
